BARLA PRESIDENT NAMED A SPORTING HERO
BARLA President Spen Allison recently attended the York Community Pride Awards 2016 evening which was sponsored by York Races and took place at York racecourse and came home a winner.
The former BARLA Chair and stalwart of the organisation has been involved in rugby league for 66years and dedicated his life to playing and managing York teams as well as promoting the game and took home the top award of the evening winning the Sporting Hero Award
Spen was presented with a plaque and certificate by Sophia Monkman of York Racecourse.
Joint runner up to Spen was fellow member of the BARLA Board of Management and RFL Match Official Stuart Evans who has refereed amateur and professional games for more than 40 years.
