Dave Roberts the chairman of Eastmoor Dragons ARLFC sadly passed away yesterday Tuesday 14th April morning in Pinderfields Hospital, Wakefield having been admitted a few weeks earlier.
Dave was a great stalwart of the game and of his club Eastmoor Dragons who he played for and coached, as well as working tirelessly with great passion in various positions for the Wakefield club.
Dave was also involved for many years with BARLA Great Britain Lions as its Under 19’s Manager which toured South Africa, Serbia and Canada as well as BARLA Yorkshire County within its Under 19’s squads.
BARLA send their condolences and sympathy to his family and friends and our thoughts are with them and all who knew him at this sad time.
BARLA Chair Sue Taylor said, “On behalf of BARLA I would to pass on my condolences and sympathy to Dave’s wife Ann and children Charlotte and Toby and his friends within and outside the amateur game whom there are many.
“Dave was respected by all in the amateur game both in this country and abroad when representing his beloved club Eastmoor Dragons in the National Conference League and Pennine League, Wakefield Amateur Rugby League as well as in South Africa, Serbia and Canada for BARLA as its BARLA Great Britain Lions Under 19 International Manager.
“His passion and thoughts on the game will be missed by all he played, coached and administered with at all levels.
