BARLA’S YORKSHIRE CUP FINAL & WOMEN’S ORIGIN CHRISTMAS CRACKERS AT FEATHERSTONE ROVERS RLFC
All roads lead to the LD Nutrition Stadium the home of Featherstone Rovers RLFC on Sunday 29th December for a triple header of Christmas Crackers when BARLA come to town for the BARLA Yorkshire Open Age & Under 18’s final and the WRLA Origin 9 clash.
It is the only place were all rugby league fans can get their Christmas fix of rugby league with no other fixtures on the day and get away from that post match Christmas blues which also allows children under sixteen free entry.
The festivities get under way at 11.30am with the BARLA Yorkshire Under 18s Final when Castleford Lock Lane clash with Hull Dockers, followed by the Open Age Final when Pennine League Division 1 sides Drighlington lock horns against Mirfield Stags at 1.30pm before the WRLA (Women’s Rugby League Association) Origin 9 ‘War of the Roses’ clash between Lancashire and Yorkshire at 3.30pm with the series currently locked at 4-4.
All the best traditions of the amateur game will be on show and will be a great spectacle for all sides concerned which will generate a great atmosphere for all the competing clubs and counties fans and a great day out for the neutrals who want to support the amateur game.
Sue Taylor BARLA Chair said, “We thank Featherstone Rovers RLFC for allowing BARLA to play the three games on their professional ground. The BARLA Yorkshire Cup
Finals are always tense fierce games given what is at stake, the BARLA Yorkshire Cup and I’m sure that all four clubs will leave everything on the pitch to lift their respective cups. Once again the final Christmas cracker will be the WRLA Origin game and given the upsurge of the women’s game it will once again be one to savour.
“Three games for £5, £3 and children Under 16 free is a great way to celebrate that Christmas feeling and we hope that all fans rugby league will get to the game more so that it’s the only rugby league event taking place on the days.
“Best of luck to all the competing teams and best of luck to you the fans of the game who I’m sure will enjoy the whole experience.”
