BARLA saddened by the passing of Colin Smith

The Oldham Amateur Rugby League are saddened to report the passing of their former executive committee member & former Lancashire County committee member Colin Smith.

Colin was an ex-professional with the Oldham R.L. Club in the 1968/1969 season & when retiring joined the Oldham District League's committee. There he represented the local league on the Lancashire County committee where he nominated many local players who went on to represent both Lancashire County and BARLA before turning professional.

A true sportsman Colin will be remembered by many both on & off the field.
