BARLA TO INTRODUCE CLUB MEMBERSHIP SCHEME

BARLA (The British Amateur Rugby League Association are pleased to announce that they are going to introduce a club membership
scheme to all Tier 4, 5 & 6 clubs. BARLA are looking to bringing the membership scheme in on the 1st September so that clubs playing in BARLA competitions can gain immediate benefit.

The cost for joining clubs will be an annual fee of £25.

The benefits for clubs taking up the scheme will include:

Free participation into the BARLA National Cups at both open age
and youth and junior

Free participation into the Cumbria and Yorkshire County Cups at both open age and youth and junior.

Tier 4,5, and 6 clubs will be eligible to put forward players from their clubs for selection to the Cumbria, Lancashire and Yorkshire which compete in the BARLA Three Counties Championship at both Open Age & Under 19’s & 17’s.

Tier 4, 5 & 6 clubs players will be eligible to be considered to play for both BARLA Open Age & Under 23’s, 19’s and 17’s international side which may take part in any future tour.

There are more announcements to be made in due course as BARLA move forward to welcome all clubs within the governing bodies ‘Four Seasons Rugby League Strategy and increasing the sports
participation.

Clubs wishing to join this club membership scheme should go through their respective District Leagues or alternatively as sometimes occurs with BARLA’s National Cup entries at all age groups via the BARLA Secretary.

“BARLA are introducing the BARLA Membership Scheme and hope that all tier 4, 5 &n6 clubs will buy into this new venture. Clubs will gain free admission into the BARLA National Cups at Open Age and Youth and Junior, the Cumbria and Yorkshire at all age groups.

“Players from all membership clubs will be able to put forward players for trials for their respective counties Cumbria, Lancashire and Yorkshire to play in the Three Counties Championship at Open Age Under 19’s and 17’s.

“Players from all membership clubs will be eligible to be considered to play for both BARLA Open Age & Under 19’s and 17’s international side which may take part in any future tour.

“By becoming members clubs will save money when entering BARLA competitions and its players will have the chance of competing for both their country and county in competitive games.”
