BARLA Lions Tour (Fiji 2018) - Blog Six

Yesterday I wrote about what the squad had been up to and didn't include any pictures. I want to put that right.

Let's start with the training session down at the school. Another good setting, despite the early morning heat.

Our team barbecue in the afternoon also went down a storm.

Today has been an excellent one. We made an early start with breakfast between 6:00-7:30am and then jumped in transport to take us down to the harbour at Denaru. From there we boarded a catamaran and sailed out of Nadi Bay to South Sea Island, an idyllic resort that is basically a spot of land rising from a smooth ocean. Think of Castaway with a swimming pool, sun loungers and palm trees and you are there!

The boys were able to relax and take part in activities such as kayaking, scuba diving, volleyball and even had the option to venture out amongst the nearby corals in a part-submerged boat. It was another day that cemented bonds between the group which should set them in good stead for the two test games ahead.

There we met the Fiji Women's Rugby Union team, also taking time out of their busy international schedule to relax.

On our return to the hotel, the squad went for an early night. Preparation now ramps up for Australian Affiliated States Test Match on Tuesday evening, or 4.30am UK Time.
