BARLA held its Annual General Meeting at Elland Working Men’s Club at 11.00am Sunday 18th August 2019 which saw delegates from twenty three District Leagues and playing leagues attending, mandated to vote on their behalf on issues relating to the organisation, which they had been made aware of following notifications to them.
Prior to the be the start of the BARLA AGM the association was informed of the unfortunate and untimely death of Archie Bruce aged 20 years, a former player with Dewsbury Moor, who had made his debut with Batley Bulldogs RLFC in France against Toulouse Olympique the previous day.
A minutes silence was observed by all as a mark of respect. The BARLA Board and Members offer their deepest sympathy to Archie’s family and friends at this difficult time.
The BARLA AGM continued, Chair Sue Taylor outlined the Boards annual report which was followed by the minutes of the 2018 AGM, receiving the BARLA accounts received and to approve the election of the auditors, all of which were passed by the delegates.
