THE BARLA GREAT BRITAIN COUGARS HAVE ARRIVED IN JAMAICA
The BARLA Great Britain Cougars squad arrived safe and well in Kingston, Jamaica after a ten hour flight for their BARLA Jubilee Tour of Jamaica, and a five hour coach drive to their base during their stay, The Four Seasons Hotel. They have recovered and are set to blow out the cobwebs later today.

BARLA Great Britain Cougars coach Mick Fishwick ....

“We have had had a 10 hour flight and a 5 hr coach trip the boys are lethargic and tired from the travelling but they were all up and about this morning. We have been in the pool to relax and stretch off and will be having a light lunch and then some more vigorous training this afternoon to blow out the cobwebs.

“We feel privileged to be invited to play over here and all the boys are in high spirits and looking forward to it. We know it’s going to be tough but we think the next two days will acclimatise us slightly and ready for the occasion.

“We are expecting a good physical challenge for us but after gaining Jamie Field, Tom Saunders and Johnny Goulding back from injury we have got some big lads to combat their physical presence. The next two or three sessions will give myself and Daryl Cardiss the opportunity to assess and pick a strong squad.”

BARLA Great Britain International Manager Mick Turner ....

“We are here to help develop the game in Jamaica and although this gives us the chance to blood some fresh faces in the Cougar squad, the real winner will be the development of rugby league. We also feel privileged to bring a tour out to Jamaica with such hype around the Queens Diamond Jubilee and with BARLA representing the British flag.”
