BARLA Tetley's Bitter Yorkshire Cup Semi-Finals
The 1999 BARLA Tetley’s Bitter Yorkshire Cup looks like ending up in either the East or West of the county this year with just four of the original 77 teams remaining. Saturday 27th November will be the day when the two finalists will be decided. The semi-finals will be a test not only of the clubs involved, but the Leagues in which they play. All clubs come from the top division of their respective Leagues with Norland and Hunslet Warriors flying the flag for the White Rose League whilst Halifax outfit, Park Amateurs will be demonstrating the standard of play in the Pennine League and Dewsbury Celtic will be doing the same for the CMS Yorkshire League.

Hunslet Warriors will be grateful for home advantage but know that the visit of Hull side Norland will be a tough encounter. The Warriors are sitting pretty at the top end of the White Rose League Premier Division and have really been working as a team this season and powered to the semi-final thanks to a convincing win over Moorends 42 - 6 in the last round. The Warriors will be keen to take the silverware back to South Leeds for the first time whilst Norland will be desperate to secure a place in the final to get the opportunity to remove the memory of a painful one point defeat at the hands of Townville in the final of this competition last year. The Hull side will be familiar with the Warriors playing style and will be looking for another match winning performance from their form player Lee Adams.

Halifax is represented in the semi-finals by 1991 finalists Park Amateurs who are in the semi’s thanks to a convincing display against Batley Victoria in the last round which saw them run out 32-4 winners The side has shown consistent early season League form and will be confident of progressing to the final with home advantage on their side. Dewsbury Celtic meanwhile have also shown some good League form and are likely to be challenging for the CMS Yorkshire League Premier Division title come the end of the season. They failed to be overawed by giant killers Ossett Trinity in the last round and will be looking to repeat their cup glory of 1977.
