CSV Make
a Difference Day – 30th October 2004
CSV ‘Make a
Difference Day’ is the UK’s biggest day of hands-on volunteering
and will take place this year on 30th October.
The idea behind the
day is to encourage individuals who wouldn’t normally volunteer to try
out a day (or a few hours) of voluntary work. Groups who register for this day
will receive a free publicity pack, will have their organisation promoted via
their local BBC media stations and will be featured on the CSV (Community Service
Volunteers) website.
Run by CSV the day
gives everyone a chance to volunteer in their local community without necessarily
committing to longer term volunteering (though many do go on to do so).
Last year over 88,000
people took part in ‘Make a Difference Day’ across the country and
this year many more are expected to do so.
