72 yrs young BARLA Chair Spen Allison made his debut for the Political Animals against the London Skolars Old Boys in a curtain raiser to the ‘Friday Night Lights’ Co-operative Championship 1 clash between London Skolars take on Whitehaven on Friday August 24th
Although Spen’s side went down by five tries to four the wily veteran set up a try, saved a certain try as well as a number of tackles.
Such was his performance that Spen Allison was named man of the match and received a trophy as well as a bottle of high class champagne
Spen Allison,
“Although a bit rusty I gave it a go and was a bit stiff over the Wembley weekend. I enjoyed the experience at the Skolars; it was a complete surprise to be named man of the match.”
