Former Workington
forward Jonty Gorley will coach the squad and Willie Johnson will assist him.
Johnson brings a
wealth of experience with him after 26 years in the pro-game as a player and
then coach. He assisted Peter Roe at Swinton last season and is sure to prove
a success with the BARLA youngsters.
Baxter was keen to
stress that other players could yet force their way into the reckoning.
He said, “We
have named the squad and will be picking from it for the first two games, however,
other players who are showing good form for their clubs could yet be brought
into the squad.”
He concluded, “There
is always the chance that players could pick up injuries and some could also
have holiday commitments in the summer.”
