LIONS TO HOLD A MINUTES SILENCE

The England Community Lions are to hold a minutes silence will be prior to their next two games following the sad loss of John Pattinson, 59yrs, the BARLA Vice-chairman who lived in Maryport, Cumbria, who passed away earlier this week whilst on holiday in Australia.

John was Vice Chair of the Association, Chair of the Three Counties Committee, BARLA Representative to the Community Board, Secretary of Cumberland Amateur Rugby League and a stalwart of the game in Cumbria for many years.

The Lions entertain France at Pennine Way, Hemel Hempstead tonight at 7.30pm and Scotland Copeland Stadium, Whitehaven kick off 7.30pm.

Amongst the squad named to play France tonight are seven players from Cumbria, Sam Forester (Maryport), Chris Tomlinson (Glasson Rangers), Marcus O’Brien (Millom), Leon Crellin (Egremont Rangers), Tyler Craig (Heworth) who will start the game and Daniel Rowell (Millom), and Perry Singleton (Barrow Island) who will come off the bench.
