| ALL ROADS LEAD TO CLAYTON ARLFC
|
|
 |
The climax of the elongated WRLA season comes to a climax on Wednesday 15th June at Clayton ALRLFC the home of the Bradford Thunderbirds when they play Warrington Ladies in the Premier Division.
The Thunderbirds, champions two years ago welcome Warrington knowing that victory over them would see Featherstone Rovers Ladies (formerly Wakefield Townville) retain their title which they won last year.
If Warrington Ladies triumph they will win the WRLA Premier Division title for the first time in their history. It will bring to an end to their most successful campaign to date having reached the WRLA Challenge Cup Final but losing to Featherstone Rovers Ladies on Easter Sunday.
WRLA Chair, Steve Manning,
"The season finally comes to a close on Wednesday evening the the champions of two years ago Bradford Thunderbirds take on champions elect Warrington Ladies.
"If Warrington win they take the Premiership title for the first time in their history so they know what they can achieve in eighty minutes of rugby league. If they lose current champions Featherstone Rovers Ladies will retain their title.
"What a climax to the season and for the Premiership league which with Division 1 as been a credit to the women’s game.
"We are really moving forward within the league and the WRLA State of Origin game at the BARLA Fylde Fiesta three weeks ago when women’s rugby league was presented to a wider audience new to women’s rugby league."
A large crowd including many neutrals is expected for the ‘War of the Roses’ title decider which kicks off at 7.00pm with everything to play for.
