| Carnegie Challenge Cup |
|
 |
Last year’s triple winners Siddal, wasted no time at all in their win at the Keepmoat Stadium, where they became the latest amateur club to beat professional opponents in the Carnegie Challenge Cup.
Caley crossed for Siddal’s first score in the first minute to set the Chevinedge side on their way to a memorable result against their woeful professional counterparts.
Attwood weighed in with a try in the 36th minute which he improved, to give the amateurs a well deserved 10-0 half time lead.
Second half tries from Blackburn, Attwood and Caley, plus two more Attwood goals, sent the Halifax side into the fourth round, in a game where they were rarely troubled by professional opposition.
