Methley Royals Hoping fro Thaw Out

Methley Royals’ hopes of getting back into CMS Yorkshire League action after having been without a competitive fixture since early December were thwarted by last week’s big freeze.

Plunging temperatures put paid to any hopes of the home Division One clash with Crofton Cougars going ahead.
The postponement adds extra credence to the decision to play a `friendly’ at Heckmondwike seven days earlier.
That game should stand the Royals in good stead for Saturday’s scheduled league fixture at Castleford Lock Lane (2.00pm).

Meanwhile, Methley have a handful of seats available on the coach to the Carnegie Challenge Cup Final at the end of August. The Royals are travelling to London on the Friday, and will play London Skolars’ Rugby League Conference side that night. The party head to Wembley the following day and will return home on the Sunday.

The total cost is £170, payable over the next few months, with a deposit due of £45.
