The 1999 BARLA Tetley’s Bitter Yorkshire Cup enters it’s second phase this Saturday (2nd October) with a full programme of 32 fixtures. Cup holders Townville of Castleford, are currently riding high at the top of the Yorkshire League Premier Division and are unlikely to succumb at home to Keighley outfit Village Celtic. Last Years runner-up Norland (Hull) face a tougher fixture away to the White Rose League’s Chequerfield Rangers who triumphed over Eastmoor Dragons in the first round and may be able to cause an upset.
The toughest encounter of the round looks likely to be the tie that sees Dewsbury Celtic at home to Bransholme North. Both teams compete in the highest Division of their Regional Leagues, Yorkshire League and Hull & District League respectively, and will be fighting to give their season a kick start after early defeats.
